Rhodes Central Shopping Centre - Project Overview
Major BMS & ICN Upgrade
Client: VAE Group
Completion Status: Completed in 2025
Â
Integrata was engaged by VAE Group to deliver a large-scale Building Management System (BMS) and communications network upgrade at Rhodes Shopping Centre in Sydney. The project involved extensive retrofit and upgrade works across operational retail, central plant, commercial, and car park environments within a live shopping centre.
The scope encompassed staged BMS controller replacements, HVAC controls upgrades, energy monitoring systems, field devices, communications infrastructure, and associated mechanical electrical works across multiple buildings and plant areas.
Â
Project Scope:
-
Retrofit and replacement of existing BMS controllers, including recovery and migration of existing field points
-
HVAC controls upgrades across AHUs, FCUs, PAC units, VAV systems, and central plant
-
Integration of VSDs, chillers, thermal meters, and water treatment systems via HLI networks
-
Carpark ventilation and CO monitoring upgrades, including over 65 CO sensors
-
Energy monitoring and sub-metering upgrades, including electrical metering and CT installations
-
Communications network upgrades including approximately 75 new CAT6 runs, fibre testing, rack remediation, and structured cabling works
-
Replacement and installation of sensors, actuators, pressure switches, and field devices throughout

Both in-hours and out-of-hours works were required throughout delivery. Integrata coordinated closely with VAE Group, site stakeholders, and associated trades to maintain system continuity and minimise disruption to tenants and centre operations across a fully operational retail environment.
